Controls Engineer - Seattle, WA - $88,000-$112,000 + Bonus - Leading BAS & Mechanical ContractorAbout the Opportunity:

A well-established mechanical and building automation contractor is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join their Seattle-based team. This full-time role supports automation projects across commercial, healthcare, higher education, and government facilities. With more than 1,500 employees and 15 locations throughout the Northwest, the company provides exceptional stability, strong employee resources, and clear pathways for advancement.

Position Details:
  • Title: Controls Engineer
  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Status: Full-Time
  • Travel: No travel required
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working as a Controls Engineer or in a similar BAS-focused role
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD for BAS design and documentation
  • Ability to interpret plans, mechanical specifications, submittals, and controls drawings
  • Familiarity with Siemens, Honeywell, or Tridium systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of programming, commissioning, and system startup procedures
  • Capable of creating Bill of Materials, ordering equipment, and supporting project scheduling
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with sales, technicians, and project managers
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design BAS system layouts, control strategies, and sequence documentation
  • Perform both hardware and software engineering for automation projects
  • Commission building automation systems and assist in network-level configuration
  • Develop and manage Sequences of Operation for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Conduct job walks and site visits for design validation
  • Provide engineering support to field technicians and project teams during installation
