Job description

Our client, a growing distribution company located just north of Greenville, SC, is seeking a Senior Controller to lead the finance function and support business growth through financial planning, reporting, and strategic analysis.
This role will partner closely with leadership while remaining hands-on with day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end close processes and prepare accurate financial reports and management accounts
  • Oversee AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and maintain general ledger integrity
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis
  • Develop financial models to support pricing, investments, and business decisions
  • Strengthen financial controls, ensure compliance, and support audit/tax processes
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support growth initiatives
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems and financial processes (Sage experience preferred)
  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and internal stakeholders

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • Experience in a small-to-mid-sized business environment with a hands-on approach
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controls
  • Ability to independently prepare management accounts and financial analysis
  • Experience supporting senior leadership with commercial and strategic decisions
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Sage preferred
  • CPA, CMA, or similar qualification preferred but not required
  • Experience within distribution, manufacturing, or fast-paced growth environments is a plus
