Job purpose
The Controller provides leadership, supervision, management and guidance over all functions of the accounting department and its staff, to include general ledger maintenance, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains prudent internal controls throughout the company
  • Prepares monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinates annual financial statement review and tax return preparation with external CPA firm
  • Plans and forecasts the company's financial performance
  • Analyzes and reports on variances, conducts profitability analyses, and makes financial presentation to ownership monthly
  • Maintains and reconciles company bank accounts, and forecasts operating cash flow
  • Oversees bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Administers the company 401(k) plan
  • Maintains a working relationship with the company's primary bank and lenders
  • Administers and obtains renewal quotes on company liability insurance policies
  • Serves as a trusted colleague for the management team, contributing to an environment of collaboration
  • Provides accounting services for any ancillary entities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Five years of experience in corporate accounting/finance
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
