Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The General Worker is responsible for the safe and efficient throughput of material being produced while adhering to the appropriate recognized quality and production standards.
DEPARTMENT: Books / Pick-N-Pack
SHIFT: 10am - 6pm
PAY: $19.27 + dollar shift premium

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow the production schedule as laid out.
Adhere to standard operating procedures while performing tasks within the job classification to the appropriate production standard
Correctly record production as instructed utilizing wandings and leaving information on incomplete work orders for the following shift.
Perform quality inspections as appropriate since each employee is responsible for their own product quality.
Make sure that all orders and stock are kept organized and all work is marked properly.
Comply with all prescribed safety procedures.
Record all product spoilage/scrap as instructed.
Adhere to 5S procedures as outlined.
Participate as representative in meetings and committees.
Work as a team member with others in groups to reach the most effective approach to solving problems.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma (or equivalent like a GED)
SKILLS amp; COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read, understand and interpret information on work orders and run lists.
Ability to use a ruler to accurately measure within 1/16 inch.
Mathematical skills are necessary to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers with fractions and be able to use percentages.
Ability to cross-train in all positions within the classification.
