Job Purpose:
Roles that specialize in ensuring that financial accounting practices within all DHL Group entities are compliant with both internal and external financial policies, standards and legal requirements in order to provide full confidence to shareholders and other key stakeholders of the quality of the financial data provided.

  • Your tasks:
  • Monitoring of Accounting and Reporting in the region Americas 
  • Dealing with customer queries (e.g. CFO, Investor Relations, Controlling, SSC, finance colleagues) concerning financial data of the region Americas 
  • Responsible for supporting and advising companies within Americas on international accounting issues Ensuring that the companies in the region supply monthly data on time and with high quality in SAP 
  • Responsible for consolidation and elimination effects in the region 
  • Serving as a point of contact at the Headquarters for all matters relating to financial figures from the region Americas 
  • Involvement in the judgmental accounting processes as well as auditors relationships 
  • Assists CFO in resolving issues highlighted by local auditors for IFRS quarterly review and/or hardclose/year end audit 
  • Support companies in the region in quality and compliance issues covering accounting guideline alignment and compliance activities
  • Performs variance analysis for group reporting and determine the root cause of each significant variance Integrates and advises on the creation and closure of legal entities and zebra slices 
  • Assists entities in resolving validation errors in monthly SAP reporting 
  • Conducts DHL Group Financial Statements technical updates and workshops to finance colleagues 
  • Works in corporation with Corporate Treasury and Corporate Tax colleagues on accounting matters that leads to Cash, foreign exchanges, functional and reporting currencies, and tax issues Works with Business Strategy team and GBS Legal department on matters that lead to drafting and amending merger & acquisition agreements to be in accordance with IFRS requirements 
  • Attends regular Jour Fixe via telephone conference call in updating Americas matters 
  • Train others in SAP and IFRS accounting topics
  • Responsible for total Americas Balance Sheet and P&L cross divisional IFRS Accounting and Reporting expert for M&A projects

Your profile:
Skills / Qualifications/Education
  • Excellent Knowledge in Accounting, IFRS & SAP
  • Experienced Finance professional 
  • Experience from an international environment for Americas 
  • Degree in Business or Accountancy and 10-15 ' year's of experience or MS/MA and 8-12 year's of experience in related field or Certified Chartered Accountant 
  • Audit assurance experience gained in Big 4 is preferred
Language
  • English and Spanish a must, German a plus
