Position Overview:
The Production Process Operator III (Control Room) will be responsible for assisting the manufacturing process by loading raw materials, operating packing and packaging machinery, and utilizing applicable hand tools to weigh, prepare, blend, and package specific ingredients into finished products, while working in varying temperature environments. In addition, this position will assist in training other Process Operators, complete applicable paperwork, and stock raw materials/supplies during the packaging process. The Production Process Operator III is also tasked with monitoring, controlling, and/or operating the batch processing software used to facilitate production of the finished product as well as cleaning/preparing various equipment used for the dosing/mixing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate production equipment to generate finished packages following standard operating procedures and performing daily cleaning activities.
  • Retrieve raw materials and packing supplies as needed, apply labels to containers, operate various automatic and manual packaging machines, scales, printing devices, pallet jacks and other material handling work and equipment
  • Handle rework in compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area by efficiently using various hand tools and equipment such as push brooms, mops, floor sweepers, cleaning chemicals, trash receptacles, etc.
  • Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions.
  • Be able to work independently and complete assigned work in multiple locations throughout the production area and tower levels without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn how to operate filling and packaging machinery at an operator level.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn multiple production roles in the tower by filling raw materials, operating electric cranes, and utilizing the hand-add station.
  • Assist in the training of new process operators as needed.
  • Take ownership of the production line, ensuring all packaging supplies, bags, film rolls, valves, etc. are stocked on the line.
  • Verify all pallets are labelled, all retains are kept, and all applicable paperwork is complete.
  • Assist the supervisor/manager with the storage and proper use of raw materials, fibers, rework, etc. in the tower as needed.
  • Assist the supervisor/manager with finished product inventory/pallet counts as needed.
  • Must be able to power on, set-up, program, and power off the filling and packaging machinery and equipment as well as some machine cleaning tasks.
  • Demonstrate a competency of cleaning the applicable equipment such as the mixer and/or micro dosing silos, and completing product change-over processes.
  • Take ownership of the production process, working with other process operators to ensure all raw materials are stocked and prepped and notifying the supervisor/manager in the event of any problems or concerns
  • Complete all daily paperwork (pallet labels, retain sheets, etc) with accuracy and on time.
  • Monitor the offloading of raw materials into the major silos.
  • Other duties as required.
