Position Overview
The Control Panel Technician will be responsible for installing, wiring, and assembling various electronic components, while ensuring quality and precision in every step. The technician will work closely with other team members to complete control panels, ensuring all components are correctly wired and meet the specifications outlined in blueprints, manuals, and schematics.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret instructions, manuals, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and wiring of control panels.
  • Layout, mount, and wire electrical components in custom PLC panels.
  • Drill and tap metal backplanes for component installation.
  • Collect and organize necessary materials and equipment for each project.
  • Take precise measurements to ensure components fit properly within the panel.
  • Perform quality checks on final assemblies to ensure uniformity and functionality.
  • Maintain equipment in good working conditions and report any malfunctions or defective parts to leadership.
  • Record production quantities, time, and progress.
  • Work closely with other technicians to ensure the successful completion of projects in a timely manner.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear, including safety goggles.
  • Test and inspect components for adherence to quality control standards.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrical technician or in a related field
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
  • Understanding of quality control principles and practices
  • Experience with layout and wiring of custom PLC panels preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with standard power and hand tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch to access equipment or retrieve materials
