Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Control Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will supervise the installation and wiring of newly delivered manufacturing equipment (including safety management), verify electrical wiring and power supply, adjust and debug control devices such as PLC software, and perform commissioning adjustment. For equipment already installed at customer sites, you will arrange and replace consumable parts, as well as propose and plan maintenance and modification work based on customer requirements. Additionally, you will prepare cost estimates, provide support for electrical and control hardware/software design, and coordinate work performed by external contractors.This role primarily involves providing technical support in the U.S. for equipment exported from Japan. Our company will provide full support for the visa application process.

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced engineer to provide on-site support for coater, slitter, and film manufacturing equipment, along with control design assistance as needed. This role also includes overseeing our Japanese team members--such as mechanical engineers—dispatched to the site. The details are as follows:
Post-delivery Support
・Troubleshooting and handling customer complaints
・Checking the status of PLC software, HMI screen, servo systems, inverters, sensors, communications, and auxiliary equipment signal interfaces.
・Providing consultation on equipment modifications and maintenance On-site Work and Commissioning
・Providing TA (technical advice) for wiring work, checking wiring/IO, and conducting
electrical measurements(voltage/current, etc.)
・ Adjusting equipment, verifying operation of each unit, checking interlocks and
abnormalities, conducting integrated test runs, and providing operator training and
operational support for customers
・Debugging software and developing partial programs (PLC, HMI screens), entering
parameter and configuring control devices
・Managing schedules, conducting final acceptance discussions, and preparing and
verifying checklists
Cost Calculation and Estimation (for equipment modifications and maintenance)
・Discussing with customers, preparing control specifications, reviewing quotations from
local (overseas) vendors, and performing cost estimation
Control Design Support (as needed, in collaboration with Japan-based design team)
・Designing PLC software, HMI screens, and performing debugging
・Verifying electrical components; creating and reviewing electrical schematics, panel
layout drawings, and wiring diagrams; ensuring safety specifications and conducting risk
assessments
・Handling arrangements(ordering parts needed for modification and maintenance and
arranging wiring works)

Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum/Required Qualifications
・PLC design skills (including various calculations, timers, pulses, self-hold, event control,
state transition control, etc.) Mitsubishi Electric PLC(Q Series, R Series)
・HMI screen design skills Mitsubishi Electric GOT (GT2000 Series)
・Electrical design skills (main line design, cable selection, grounding, control panel
design, wiring device planning)
・Ability to use measuring instruments (tester, insulation resistance meter, etc.)
・Hands-on experience in manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial
equipment
・Proficiency in creating reports and emails using PC
・Communication skills in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking)
・Valid drivers license

・PLC design experience (Keyence/Omron)
・Safety PLC and controller design experience (Keyence/ Omron)
・HMI design experience with Pro-face (GP/SP Series)
