Job description

Subcontract Administrator III Merritt Island, FL Type: Contract Work Model: Onsite Hours: 40.0 System One is seeking a Subcontract Administrator III to join our team for a contract opportunity located in Merritt Island, FL. Responsibilities

  • Manage cradle-to-grave procurement activities, including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, placing, and closing out purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Support New Product Integration (NPI) within SCM, ensuring new components and suppliers are successfully introduced into the supply base.
  • Execute purchasing activities for hardware, components, materials, and services in support of program needs.
  • Proactively follow up and track open orders, supplier commitments, and delivery schedules to mitigate risk and prevent shortages.
  • Serve as an embedded member of cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), representing SCM and driving procurement strategy aligned to program objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing performance, escalations, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery to achieve best value while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within the procurement process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in subcontract administration, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Aerospace industry experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cradle-to-grave procurement.
  • Proven ability to follow up, track, and drive supplier deliverables to closure.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams (IPT environment).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Kent, WA or Florida.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by applicable export control regulations.
