Job description


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1 Successful background clearance, physical and drug/alcohol screening

2. Previous documented experience in areas related to general maintenance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Previous documented employment experience preferred.
  2. Completion of certified training program(s) related to maintenance and/or janitorial services.

STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE:

As directed by the Manager of Facilities, performs tasks related to maintenance/repair of Hope buildings providing housing, offices and classroom space, janitorial work and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. General maintenance of Hope grounds, drives, and walkways. Weather related: i.e. mowing, raking, trash pick-up, snow removal, etc.

2. General maintenance of exteriors of HOPE buildings, i.e. gutters, vents, fans, window repairs, etc.

3. General interior maintenance of Hope buildings, i.e. floor, tile, vinyl base trim, painting, vents, replacing lights, ceiling tile, dry wall repair, plumbing and heating repair to the limits of an individual’s capability.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. As directed by the Manager of Facilities, completes Maintenance Charts for: pool area, maintenance rooms, plumbing, water temperature, etc.
  2. Completes preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled.
  3. Under the direction of the Manager of Facilities, completes repairs to interior or exterior of Hope buildings involving electrical wiring and plumbing when required.
  4. May assist contractual technician with plumbing, electrical or heating/air conditioning and ventilation projects, as directed by the Manager of Facilities.
  5. Maintain and clean all equipment used after each job is complete.
  6. Regularly report to Manager of Facilities any areas on the campus or community homes that require repair or replacement, including equipment and appliances.
  7. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of students as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
  8. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
