Executive Producer

Position Overview

The Executive Producer is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality production work across a range of pharmaceutical marketing initiatives. This role ensures alignment with client objectives while upholding a strong standard of craft, consistency, and operational rigor.

At BGBx, a healthcare and pharmaceutical advertising agency, this role supports work across leading global brands in HCP, DTC, and omnichannel environments. The Executive Producer operates as both a strategic partner and a hands-on production lead, contributing to both high-level planning and detailed execution as required.

This role functions within a lean team structure and is expected to scale production capabilities through freelance and contract resources based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end production across a range of deliverables, including integrated campaigns (CTV, video, social, digital, experiential), photo and video shoots, KOL engagements, artist commissions, illustration, CG, and audio content (e.g., podcasts).
  • Ensure all work is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to defined quality standards.
  • Maintain oversight across multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.

Craft & Quality Stewardship

  • Uphold a high standard of creative and production excellence across all outputs.
  • Apply strong judgment and attention to detail to ensure work meets both client expectations and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Partner with creative and strategy teams to ensure production enhances and protects the integrity of the idea.

Client Engagement

  • Participate in client-facing discussions related to production scope, timing, budgets, and executional considerations.
  • Provide clear, practical guidance to support decision-making and alignment.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with client stakeholders.

Team & Resource Management

  • Collaborate within a small core team, contributing to a flexible and adaptable working model.
  • Identify, onboard, and manage freelance and contract production resources as needed.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams to ensure efficient and effective execution.

Operational Management

  • Develop and maintain production workflows that support efficiency, clarity, and scalability.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes, timelines, and best practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with account, creative, strategy, and media teams.

Financial Oversight

  • Support development and management of project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Track production costs and ensure alignment with approved estimates.
  • Contribute to forecasting and financial planning as needed.

Contracts, Rights & Negotiation

  • Oversee production-related contracts, including scopes of work, talent agreements, and vendor terms.
  • Manage usage rights, licensing, and talent negotiations in alignment with project needs and budget parameters.
  • Ensure clear understanding and application of contractual obligations across internal and external teams.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in creative production, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-channel production projects from concept through delivery.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level (player-coach mindset).
  • Experience managing freelance talent and external production partners within a flexible resourcing model.
  • Experience navigating union and non-union production environments, with an understanding of associated requirements and implications.
  • Working knowledge of production contracts, talent rights, usage, and negotiation processes.

Success Metrics

  • Consistent delivery of work that meets established quality standards and client expectations.
  • Effective management of timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners.
  • Scalable production approach that supports changing business needs.

Reporting Structure
