Job Description
Job Summary
The Manager of Strategic Sourcing leads by example, and through partnership, to drive competitive advantage and value for Visa Inc. As a Sourcing Manager, you are accountable for developing negotiation strategies to deliver sustainable results across certain Marketing Categories by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and recommendations to drive decisions forward. This role will report into the Sr. Director - Strategic Sourcing Marketing and be a part of the broader Global Procurement Organization.
For Media, Martech and Events & Sponsorships, Manager will lead engagements across media planning & buying, marketing technology and experiential to enable supply market solutions for various business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Engages and establishes business partnerships with cross functional leadership across Visa to collaborate, influence, and drive sourcing strategies
  • Manages complex sourcing strategies, scope requirements, Business Partnerships, and navigates complexity within a large global matrixed organization
  • Leads the supplier selection and negotiation process. Acts as primary liaison to Legal to negotiate contractual terms in partnership with business owners.
  • Collaborates with legal and other company departments and functional stakeholders to analyze risks and develop language to minimize exposure
  • Leads highly complex sourcing events (E-Auctions, RFx, etc) and provide final analysis on value achieved to finance business partners
  • Creates a shared vision by embedding and integrating the role of strategic sourcing into various parts of the business
  • Provides high level guidance on the overall continuous strategic sourcing process from needs identification, through supplier performance management across multiple media agencies
  • Performs and organizes market analysis, benchmark analysis, and financial analysis that is illustrated in a storytelling format to drive insights and decision making
  • Is a champion for change that can act decisively to drive decisions, while demonstrating agility to support the evolution of business needs
  • Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others
  • Develops and manages category wide SRM plans with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Supports the implementation of Global Sourcing policies and procedures.

This role is a hybrid position to be located in our Foster City, CA office location. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • 5 - 7 years leading the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to marketing categories.
  • In-depth understanding of the agency and production marketplace; deep industry and/or professional relationships with suppliers and agencies
  • Deep understanding of marketing math/measurement and associated metrics
  • Past experiences challenging the status quo by developing recommendations for change through leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive a broad strategic impact across an organization
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies for various marketing categories
  • Strong relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data
  • Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred
  • Experience in contract and agreement negotiation, including development of negotiation plans and strategies for business and commercial contracts.
  • Experience developing category strategies working closely with the business to drive efficiencies a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of merger and acquisition activities to support contract lifecycle management and migration.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively with partners at all levels on a global scale.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/initiatives and work streams simultaneously.

U.S. Applicants Only
The estimated salary range for this position is $129,200.00 to $ 206,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements
This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
