Job Details Description
We are looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented Claims Specialist that will be responsible for supporting Start Hearing operations, systems, and financial objectives. You will support back-end verification and submission of insurance claims ensuring accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance. This position is essential in providing information to and resolving coverage and claims issues with third-party payers, patients, hearing aid providers, and other internal/external customers.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred, or 4 years' experience in lieu of degree

  • 2-5 years of experience working with medical insurance billing or claims processing strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of:

    • The health insurance industry, health plans, medical billing / claims billing
    • Waystar
    • MS Office applications

Our claims specialist will:
  • Ensure order validity and benefit coverages are compliant with pricing and contracts language
  • Review claims and verify accurate and current per CPT codes, and pricing according to contract specifications
  • Ensure collections and payment processes are completed and timely
  • Research and resolve payer rejects, coverages, disputes, denials, and past due balances by interacting with network contracts, third party administrators, hearing providers and patients
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with providers, patients, contracts, and other integral departments in the SHT organization
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting quality, efficiency, and timeliness - Process improvements within workflows on full claims processes

  • The Claims Specialist establishes customer billing satisfaction and ensures prompt reimbursement on accounts receivable. We expect the highest level of service that our customers deserve. You are responsible for upholding the values and culture of the department through positivity and teamwork. You will be expected to adhere to company policies and procedures to accomplish Starkey's mission of serving our customers better than anyone else and making it easy to do business with us

The annual salary for this position is between $40,000-$45,000/ year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
