RTX's Supply Chain Logistics team is seeking a Packaging Engineering Assistant to support the Surveillance Logistics, McKinney Pack Ship department and North Texas Satellite Sites, responsible for processing documentation and creating/troubleshooting packing instructions for non-contractual, commercial and government owned assets in accordance with Special Pack Instructions, Best Commercial Practices and Contractual requirements. The candidate selected will perform a wide array of duties from customer service, collaborating with peers and internal customers, SAP processes, contract reviews, problem solving, and verifying accuracy of documentation.

What You Will Do
  • Read, interpret, and convert contractual packaging requirements into written packaging instructions for packers to follow.
  • Read and interpret military and commercial standards (Mil Std 2073, Mil Std 129, ASTM D 3951, etc.) to apply appropriate mechanical and preservation protection to ship military equipment domestically and overseas.
  • Support hazardous shipments using IATA and 49 CFR publications.
  • Follow classified requirements.
  • Execute SAP (APEX & PRISM) processes.
  • Troubleshoot SAP (APEX & PRISM) outbound shipments.
  • Work with Pack/Ship and Raytheon customers to verify documentation and hardware.
What You Will Learn
  • Company paid Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) certifications will be required in the first 12 months in both 49 CFR and IATA.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations
  • U.S. Citizen - the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • General industry experience and understanding of protocol in a defense company, including working with Government Furnished Material
  • Existing IATA and 49 CFR hazmat certifications
  • Experience with SAP, WAWF, and Defense Transportation Regulations
  • Experience with processing classified shipments
  • Ability to lift up to 28 lbs.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
