Description

Overview of Role: 

The Test Engineer (Journeyman) develops and executes comprehensive qualification test plans for Department of Defense network modernization projects, ensuring all installed systems meet performance and security requirements prior to operational cutover. Responsibilities include creating test plans and procedures for key network and security capabilities, executing qualification tests-including burn-in periods-preparing documented testing exit packages, conducting post-installation System Acceptance Testing, identifying and documenting test deficiencies, managing re-test activities, and producing formal test reports as contractual deliverables. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Develops and executes comprehensive qualification test plans for DoD network modernization projects, ensuring all installed systems meet performance and security requirements prior to cutover. Creates test plans and procedures covering IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack, STIG compliance, TACACS+, RADIUS, NTP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, NAC, and link aggregation; executes qualification testing including 48-hour burn-in periods; prepares qualification testing exit packages with STIG compliance and configuration documentation; conducts post-installation System Acceptance Testing; identifies and documents test deficiencies; manages re-test activities; and produces formal test reports as contractual deliverables. 

Educational and Certification Requirement:  

  3 to 10 years' experience and a B.A./B.S.  

Network testing certifications; 3+ yrs DoD network qualification testing; STIG/ACAS test experience 

Must have an Active Secret Clearance
