Job Summary:
This position exists to provide assistance to District staff with benefits and other human resource-related matters.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the setup and maintenance of benefits management systems and information to ensure that vendors and employees have accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process COBRA events, ensuring timely participant notifications, and assist in resolving eligibility discrepancies
- Ensure timely and accurate responses related to Unemployment Insurance claims
- Manage the recruiting, onboarding and maintenance for non-certified substitutes
- Assist with employee record and data retention
- Collaborate with managers and staff on development of position descriptions and job specifications
- Provide information and recommendations to District administration regarding bargaining unit and individual contracts
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with special projects and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources
Required Qualifications:
- One year of relevant experience in a similar role or a background in benefits administration, including direct customer service experience
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication abilities when dealing with customers, vendors, and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in working with multiple information systems
- Demonstrated organizational skills showing the ability to prioritize work, independently initiate actions to meet deadlines, establish and maintain recordkeeping systems and complete all aspects of assignments under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of employment laws such as: FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, ACA, COBRA, MN ESST, MN PFML
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
- Human Resources certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
Contract:
- Full-time position
- 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Monday through Friday
- 12 months per year (248 work days, 12 holidays)
Salary and Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions:
Hourly rate of pay ranging from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience.
