VOLUNTEER CLEARANCE
Volunteers are a key element in the success of a school. Schools today rely on the services, expertise, and generous time and talents that volunteers provide.
The Phoenix Union High School District (PXU) welcomes a variety of volunteers who enhance our students' educational experiences. For the safety and protection of students, staff, and volunteers, we are required to follow certain guidelines, depending on your level of involvement.
In compliance with PXU Operational Procedure IJOC-OP-1 and Arizona Revised Statutes A.R.S 15-512 (A)(H) and A.R.S 15-341(A)(16) and House Bill 2023, all noncertificated personnel and personnel who are not paid employees of the district and who are required or allowed to provide services directly to students shall obtain or possess a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card. Furthermore, a contractor, subcontractor or vendor or any employee of a contractor, subcontractor or vendor who is contracted to provide services to students on a regular basis shall obtain or possess a valid IVP fingerprint clearance card.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Agency staff without an approved MOU who may support campus needs with individual presentations, workshops, resource distribution. All workshop content, topics, and handouts must be pre-approved.
CAMPUS VOLUNTEER
Any individual who does not represent an organization but wishes to volunteer to support campus needs i.e., tutoring, lunch support/supervision, etc.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
Agency staff with an approved MOU to deliver a program or specified services. All curricula must be pre-approved.
COURT MANDATED THERAPIST
A copy of the court order is required
PARENT VOLUNTEER
A Parent/Guardian who will have serve as an overnight or out-of-state field trip chaperone or will have regular, on-going, and/or direct student contact.
