What You’ll Do

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will act as our store’s primary representative, providing exceptional service and sales support to our diverse customer base. You will utilize your product knowledge and sales techniques to assist customers with product selection, manage the order entry process, and collaborate with the broader sales team to meet customer requirements and expectations.

Sales & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and contractor customers.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and services.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, and discuss credit terms.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers to assist them with their purchases.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine and implement strategic sales approaches.
  • Manage unique accounts, including taking on new home construction "one-off" accounts.

Orders & Technical Operations

  • Utilize the company computer system to enter and manage orders accurately.
  • Complete sales orders and professionally tender cash sales.
  • Prepare sales order forms and necessary reports to track sales activity.
  • Develop deep product knowledge to effectively assist customers with complex purchases.
  • Handle physical requirements of the role, including standing, sitting, walking, using stairs, and lifting/carrying light product (up to 25 lbs. as needed).

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and policies as communicated by Bliffert Lumber management.
  • Report workplace injuries immediately to the Manager.
  • Protect company values by maintaining the strict confidentiality of financial information and business plans.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management to support store operations.
