Job description

Program Security Officer

SAIC is seeking a Program Security Officer (PSO) to provide Launch Security Operations Support (LSOS) for government customer located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), FL. This position will serve as the primary day-to-day program security support to the government customer for all matters of program security, classification guidance, program integration, and launch operations. This role includes support to other functional security areas including but not limited to: Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical/Technical Security, and Operations Security (OPSEC).

Key duties and/or responsibilities:

  • Directly support government Security Leadership Team by engaging and updating on all matters regarding program security specific to launch operations at CCSFS
  • Program Security interface to launch service providers and satellite vehicle contractors
  • Provide security support to all facets of launch operations to include: mission integration, day of launch, transport, system and facility accreditations
  • Interface with mission stakeholders within launch community ensuring compliance to government security policy and governance
  • Work directly with launch community mission partners on relevant integration and launch related activities, policy development/changes, and associated integration matters
  • Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storing, and transportation of program assets
  • Develop and maintain customer facility accreditation documentation for launch facilities, systems and processes. Support verification of security design and installation standards related to facility and physical protection of customer assets
  • Serve as the government customer point-of-contact for classification management, program asset management, document control, visitor control, courier, badging, and personnel clearance actions
  • Address security incidents and violations; prepare investigation synopsis for the customer, making specific recommendations for corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop and administer customer specific launch security training

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least (6) six years of experience with a four-year degree. In lieu of degree will accept 4 years of additional
  • Knowledge/experience of Intelligence Community Directives 705, 704, and 503, Security Executive Agent Directives (SEAD), 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), Committee on National Security Instructions (CNSSI), Executive Orders, Acquisition Security, Classification Management, Program Protection Planning, Risk Management, Contract Security/DD 254, Operations Security, etc
  • Possess strong interpersonal and briefing skills, with the ability to communicate with senior level leaders and other personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations and independent decision makers, with minimal direct supervision
  • Must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual, possessing strong organizational skills with attention to detail who is capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Capability to work and collaborate in a team environment
  • Ability to articulate and present intelligent, decisive and risk-managed security recommendations and decisions daily
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point)
  • Experience utilizing customer databases such as Scattered Castles and TALON
  • Ability to travel to support other locations

Clearance/Access Requirements:

  • Must have current TS//SCI (BI within last 7 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation Program) clearance with CI Poly
  • Five years of launch operations and acquisition experience
