- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

- Knowledge commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.

- read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

"Nice to have" Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Sage Estimating, Procore, BuildinConnected, Bluebeam, or similar construction and estimating platforms.
  • Experience with design-build construction delivery methods.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate estimates, assumptions, and value engineering ideas to owners and internal teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to support meetings, presentations, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and leveraging historical cost databases.
  • Interest in gaining field experience on active projects to complement office-based estimating responsibilities.
Job Description

The General Contractor Estimator supports preconstruction and estimating efforts for commercial construction projects, preparing detailed cost estimates, and performing quantity takeoffs. This role contributes to both negotiated and hard-bid pursuits, ensures accurate and competitive pricing, and helps identify value engineering opportunities that enhance project value and constructability.

Eventually, this person will have the opportunity to support projects in the field, providing variety in day-to-day responsibilities and exposure to both office and project environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
