Job description

Hypower Inc. is currently hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team!

We seek a heavy equipment mechanic to inspect, service, and maintain a wide range of construction equipment. As a mechanic, you will be responsible for driving to the job site, checking engines and equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet.

To succeed as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, the ability to perform incidental welding operations, and experience with diesel and gas trucks, primarily Ford.  Applicants must possess the required tools to complete repairs and a valid driver's license to travel to job sites. 

Job Brief:

  • Travel to various job sites to make electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and more.
  • Inspect trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
  • Equipment Mechanic must have skills in the care and use of hand and power tools employed in all phases of heavy equipment mechanical maintenance and repair work.
  • Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs.
  • Perform repair work for damaged equipment parts when necessary.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on equipment and vehicles.
  • Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management. 
  • Work schedule can be day and or night shifts
  • Must be willing to work with construction crews, doing physical labor if required. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must have required tools
  • Must have welding experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
  • 2 to 5 years experience with Ford gas/diesel vehicles
