Job description

Build your banking career from the ground up.

Bank Five Nine is seeking a full-time Commercial Banking Associate to join our Commercial Lending team at our corporate office in Oconomowoc, WI. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to develop a career in commercial banking and gain meaningful hands-on experience.

You'll work closely with experienced lending professionals, support projects directly for our Chief Lending Officer, and gain exposure to a wide range of commercial lending activities. With a national commercial lending presence and recognition as a Preferred SBA Lender, Bank Five Nine offers valuable experience in commercial, construction, and SBA lending that is difficult to find in many entry-level banking roles.

What You'll Do

  • Support construction lending workflows, including contract review, contractor information, draw documentation, and project completion follow-up.
  • Assist with commercial portfolio administration and borrower documentation tracking.
  • Make phone calls on a regular basis to existing customers requesting that they provide us with updated financial statements, tax returns, and other required documents.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including Servicing, Collections, Credit, and SBA.
  • Assist with reporting, data analysis, and department projects.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Commercial Lending team and Chief Lending Officer.
  • Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts.

Helpful Experience, But Not Required (Training Will Be Provided)

  • General familiarity with construction lending or construction project processes.
  • Exposure to or general understanding of title work, including title commitments, lien positions, and closing documentation.

Is This Opportunity Right for You?

If you're eager to learn, comfortable receiving direct feedback, and motivated by a fast-paced environment, this role could be a great fit. Join us and take the next step toward building a successful career in commercial banking.
