LOCATION: Turning Sun Project Estavan, Saskatchewan

HOURLY WAGE: $27.00 - $44.00 (wage will depend upon apprenticeship level and experience)

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Barton Malow Canada is a General Contractor with clients across Canada and is part of the Barton Malow family of companies. Our services include Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) Construction, Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery, General Contracting, and Specialty Contracting. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical Apprentice will work closely with the Electrical Journeyperson and take direction from the Electrical Foreperson. This position will be responsible to work collaboratively to connect all the wiring between the solar panels and inverters based on the drawing specifications, while adhering to the safety guidelines. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute to the growth of renewable energy and gain valuable experience in the solar industry.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executing plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning PV solar systems
  • Connecting solar panels and inverters and other high-voltage equipment to the power supply
  • Assemble, install, test and maintain PV-related electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair damaged units

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Registered in an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in electrical work.
  • Previous electrical experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrate an interest in the electrical field and construction industry.
  • Reliable and has a strong work ethic.
  • Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
