Trane in Greenville, SC is hiring for an Area Contracting Manager to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of the contracting fulfillment processes in its goal of operational excellence, support of overall strategic objectives, and accountable for overall project financial results.
What you will do:
  • Supports the Regional Contracting Manager and Area General Manager in delivering business results and sharing department vision.
  • Directly supervises contracting fulfillment Project Management and Technician personnel.
  • Responsible for conducting employee reviews and ensuring performance objectives are met.
  • Partner with and support sales teams in the discovery and development of new opportunities.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Maintains and improves current customer relationships while seeking out other sales opportunities.
  • Reviews and validates contracts by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
  • Reviews and validates estimates by utilizing prior experience to ensure proper costs and constructability.
  • Confirms Trane's ability to meet the project performance and financial requirements by obtaining and analyzing customer data, project data, and implementation issues prior to accepting the project.
  • Leads the team as a safety professional to establish and maintain a work culture that makes safety priority #1.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the business and delivering on financial commitments.
  • Responsible for customer communication and assuring customer commitments are met or exceeded.
  • Evaluates subcontractor performance and establishes relationships with new subcontractors and vendors, as necessary.
  • Manpower planning to meet the needs of the business and facilitate the growth and development of team members
  • Partner with peer leaders on the successful execution of projects.
  • Be customer facing and effectively communicate on Trane's plan to execute with confidence.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and lead the completion of project closeout reviews.
  • Strong financial acumen for forecasting and contracting business performance.
  • Partner with the sales teams on the successful development and execution of projects.
  • Ownership and accountability for the entire portfolio of projects from inception to completion.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial and commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems.
  • Experience leading a team preferred.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems and mechanical/HVAC systems and projects.
  • Deep understanding of construction process to included scheduling, project management, resource planning, etc.
  • Contractor's Licenses preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
    • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
