Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Contract Working Task Lead to lead our team supporting Missile DefenseAgency (MDA) Technical Acquisition and Contracting Support (TACS) located at Ft Belvoir, VA.  In this critical role, you will serve as the primary interface between MDA leadership and our contract team, ensuring the flawless execution of all programmatic, financial, and technical objectives. You will act as the principal focal point for the Director of Acquisition (DA) on contract execution, driving the acquisition strategies and policies that directly align with and protect MDA’s mission-critical objectives. 

 

This is a premier opportunity for a seasoned federal contracting executive to leverage decades of defense acquisition expertise at the highest levels of government. As the Program Manager, you will oversee comprehensive contract execution—including subcontractor management, risk mitigation, and compliance—while leading and developing a high-performing team of acquisition professionals. If you are a visionary leader with a deep mastery of FAR/DFARS compliance, ACAT I/II systems development, and a proven track record of guiding complex DoD procurement strategies, we invite you to lead this vital program. This role requires an Active TS/SCI Clearance.

This role requires personnel to be on-site at Ft Belvoir, VA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface between MDA leadership and the contract team, ensuring that all objectives are met.
  • Serve as the focal point to the DA on contract execution.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee acquisition strategies and policies that align with MDA’s mission.
  • Provide expert guidance on procurement, acquisition policy, and contracting regulations.
  • Manage the execution of all activities under this contract, including those of subcontractors, suppliers, and any and all sub-tier vendors.
  • Conduct and integrate all aspects of the contract such as schedule, cost, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Mitigate risks and resolve complex acquisition and contracting issues.
  • Lead a high-performing team, ensuring staff development and execution of critical acquisition functions.
  • Recruit and maintain qualified personnel to support the required workload.
  • Conduct internal reviews and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and DoD procurement policies.
  • Provide contracts and technical status to ensure successful reviews and execution of the program.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for contract execution, reporting, and compliance assessments.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance Required.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement and Contract Management, Finance or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in Federal Contracting
  • 10+ years of combined DoD procurement experience with ACAT I/II systems development and A&AS.
  • Experience in internal review, formulation and promulgation of contract policy and contracting oversight/review.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification Level III in Contracting or industry equiv-alent (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Former Head of Contracting Activity/Chief of Contracting.
  • Top Secret Clearance.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated compensation range for this position is between $250,700 - $277,100 annually.  Actual salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s specialized skills, certifications, and years of experience.
