Payroll ProcessingMore frequent payroll processingLess frequent payroll processing
Cash Flow for WorkersFaster access to earningsLonger wait between payments
Employer UsageCommon in industries with high turnoverCommon in stable, long-term contracts

Contract Biweekly Pay offers payments every two weeks, which may suit longer-term contracts and reduce administrative costs. The choice depends on your cash flow needs and employer practices.

What does 'Contract Weekly Pay' mean?

'Contract Weekly Pay' refers to a payment arrangement where individuals working on a contract basis receive their wages on a weekly schedule. This is common in industries like staffing, freelancing, or temporary work, where workers are not permanent employees. Weekly pay helps contractors manage cash flow and budget more effectively. The exact terms, such as pay rates and deductions, are usually specified in the employment contract.

How does a contract position with weekly pay typically affect job stability and work expectations compared to salaried roles?

Contract positions with weekly pay often provide greater flexibility but may come with less job stability than traditional salaried roles. As a contractor, you are usually responsible for managing your own schedule, taxes, and sometimes benefits, but you benefit from receiving regular, predictable payments each week. Work expectations can be more project-based, with clear deliverables and deadlines, and you may work independently or as part of a client’s team. It's important to maintain open communication with your clients or staffing agency to ensure ongoing assignments and to understand the scope of each project. This arrangement can be ideal for those who value flexibility and are comfortable managing their workload and finances independently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Contract Payroll Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Payroll Specialist, you need expertise in payroll processing, tax regulations, and a background in accounting or finance, often supported by relevant certifications like the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC). Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks, as well as proficiency in Excel, is typically required. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are essential soft skills for this role. These skills ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and effective resolution of payroll issues for contract employees.

Job description

Production Associate- ENTRY LEVEL

Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Pay: $20-$23/hour

Hours: Various Shifts Available

This role involves a fast-paced manufacturing environment by handling physically demanding production tasks, loading and unloading materials, and monitoring machines to ensure product quality. The position serves as a starting point for individuals who want to grow into a machine operator role and involves working around large film machines, forklifts, and high-volume production lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Work to support production processes on less technical machines.
  • Cut pre-made rolls of plastic into smaller sizes according to specifications.
  • Load and unload product and materials into and out of machines throughout the shift.
  • Oversee machines to ensure product runs smoothly and consistently during operation.
  • Perform visual inspections of products to identify defects and quality issues.
  • Split rolls of plastic, wrap finished rolls, and stack pallets in an organized and safe manner.
  • Monitor machine needs and ensure they have the materials required to run effectively.

Essential Skills:

  • At least 1 year of general production experience, preferably in a somewhat labor-intensive environment.
  • Ability and willingness to perform physical work, including consistently lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • At least 6 months of machine operating experience.
  • Comfort working long hours and rotating shifts.

Why Work Here?

You will join a quality-focused, goal-driven culture that values hard work, reliability, and continuous improvement. The environment offers clear opportunities to grow from an entry-level production role into more advanced machine operator positions. You will work in a setting where performance and dedication are recognized, and where team members support each other in meeting production goals and maintaining high standards of product quality.

Work Environment:

The role is based in a large, warehouse-style manufacturing building that can be loud, dirty at times, and hot in the summer, as it is not temperature controlled. You will work around large film machines and moving forklifts in a high-production environment.
