Job Summary:

The Software Test Engineer will support quality assurance for web and mobile interfaces, focusing on reliability and performance, while collaborating with teams to enhance automated testing processes.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to quality initiatives for client-side experiences, focusing on user interface correctness, visual consistency, and front-end performance metrics.
• Execute assigned portions of the layered test strategy for your squad, primarily focusing on End-to-End (E2E) and integration testing using modern automation frameworks.
• Assist in identifying quality risks in client-side flows (e.g., cross-browser compatibility, form validation, and state management) and focus on writing and executing actionable Playwright scripts.
• Perform hands-on testing for lead applications, start building API Testing for browser automation, and validating data integrity through basic queries.
• Apply principles of testability, including focusing on contract validation (e.g., for GraphQL schemas), verifying complex business logic, and ensuring data integrity across service interactions.
• Work with developers to ensure components and client-side logic are validated early in the development lifecycle.
• Write and update test scripts within the robust automation suites using Python.
• Assist with executing API and contract validation for GraphQL schemas.
• Participate in the maintenance and execution of automated UI checks integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI, GitHub Actions) and assist in triaging failing checks to maintain a healthy build signal.
• Support performance testing efforts for client-side load times and core web vitals using tools like k6.
• Participate fully in Agile/Scrum processes, ensuring UI quality signals are included in the definition of done.
• Collaborate with Product and Design partners to translate user requirements into reliable automated acceptance tests.
• Actively learn from team members and utilize shared best practices and utilities within the automation and development codebases.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in software and/or test engineering, with a focus on web applications and back-end testing or development.
• Familiarity with testing GraphQL APIs, including writing simple queries.
• Proficiency in Python and an understanding of reusable test utilities.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and an understanding of techniques to reduce flakiness in test suites.
• Familiarity with browser-based debugging tools and observability platforms to isolate client-side errors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred:
• Experience with visual regression testing or accessibility (a11y) testing is a plus.
