Job Summary:
Contract Professionals, Inc. (CPI) is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support regression and system-level testing for advanced military ground vehicle platforms. The role focuses on validating software releases, developing test procedures, debugging complex vehicle systems, and supporting both virtual and hardware-based test environments.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and execute system and regression test procedures
• Support testing of internal and external software releases
• Perform vehicle-level system regression testing in lab and on-vehicle environments
• Author detailed test cases from Software Requirements Specifications (SRS)
• Conduct boundary condition and negative-case testing
• Analyze logs and large datasets to identify trends and defects
• Generate detailed test reports including coverage metrics, defect density, and pass/fail results
• Collaborate with cross-functional software and vehicle integration teams
• Track defects and test execution using JIRA, DOORs, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar tools
• Support risk assessments and prioritization of regression testing efforts
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Systems, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of systems/regression testing experience
• 5+ years of test procedure and test case development experience
• Experience debugging complex vehicle systems
• Knowledge of CAN bus, LIN, Ethernet, and vehicle communication protocols
• Experience with test management and requirements tools such as JIRA, DOORs, TestRail, or Zephyr
• Strong written/verbal communication and technical documentation skills
• Ability to work around military vehicles and support occasional overtime/weekends
Preferred:
• Experience with ground combat or automotive vehicle systems
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Ability to travel domestically/internationally as needed
• Strong independent troubleshooting and analytical skills
