Job description

Turnaround Construction Lead
Port Arthur, TX | Onsite | 12+ Month Contract
Non-DOT Position

iSphere is looking for a Turnaround Construction Lead who knows that successful turnarounds don't happen by accident. They happen because someone is planning ahead, keeping contractors aligned, and making sure safety, quality, and execution stay on track from the first planning meeting to the last work package.

This role supports major turnaround and maintenance activities at an industrial facility, serving as the bridge between field execution, contractors, maintenance, and project teams. If you've led large turnaround efforts and are just as comfortable walking the job site as you are reviewing schedules and work packages, this could be a great fit.

What they're really looking for:

• 10+ years of construction and turnaround experience (15+ preferred) in industrial facilities
• Strong background across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, scaffolding, insulation, and painting
• Experience leading contractors during both turnaround planning and execution
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 safety standards
• Experience with permitting, JSAs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and work management systems
• Ability to coordinate quality, schedule, materials, and contractor performance in the field
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build productive relationships across multiple teams
• Valid TWIC card, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days
• Valid driver's license

Bonus points if you have experience with:

• Marine facilities
• Hot and cold taps
• Pile installation
• Large maintenance or capital project execution

You'll spend your time supporting turnaround planning, overseeing field execution, coordinating contractor activities, monitoring safety and quality, resolving field issues, reviewing progress against schedule, and helping ensure every phase of the turnaround is executed safely and efficiently.

The right person for this role doesn't wait for problems to show up—they're already looking three steps ahead. They know how to keep contractors accountable, communicate clearly under pressure, and understand that the best turnaround is the one that finishes safely, on schedule, and without unnecessary surprises.

If you've built your career leading industrial turnarounds and enjoy being where the work is happening, we'd love to talk with you.
