Job description

At-a-Glance:
Are you ready to build your career by joining an award-winning builder of luxury homes?  If so, our client is hiring a Structural Engineer.
Position Type:

  • Contract
  • On-Site

Required:

  • Advanced knowledge of residential wood and CMU design and construction.
  • PE License (Florida preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design structural components of residential wood and masonry structures.
  • Produce and seal structural plans, details, and repair letters.
  • Collaborate with architectural staff and various departments.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and prepare repair details/letters.
  • Coordinate structural plans with truss layouts.
  • Perform site visits and meet with building officials.
  • Conduct code research.
