Job description

Overview

The Senior Logistics Analyst is responsible for developing, managing, and improving the DriSteem logistics network. This position will be responsible for analyzing the transportation network for both domestic and international shipments, monitoring service metrics and driving continuous improvement strategies to ensure we have a favorable service-to-cost ratio. 

Pay range: $82,000-130,000 BOE.

This position requires you to be onsite in Eden Prairie, MN.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

LOGISTICS

  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously enhance and optimize our transportation network design and delivery strategy with all activities connected to in-bound and out-bound transportation.
  • Analyze and report quarterly on market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence.
  • Select and implement new freight forwarders, carriers, or 3PL's as needed.
  • Own and manage the relationship with all carriers/partners. Act as a point of escalation for operational issues.
  • Monitor and maintain operational and performance review meetings with key transportation partners through meetings with internal stakeholders and external carriers or partners via the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process.
  • Create, negotiate, and manage contracts with logistics partners to ensure we are receiving a highly favorable service-to-cost ratio.
  • Own and manage the selection / enhancement of our shipping software to ensure we have the best tools in place to facilitate outbound shipments. 

EUROPE 3PL MANAGEMENT

  • Manage the execution process of shipments to European 3PL's and ensure outbound shipments from the European 3PL's are being properly transacted in our ERP system.  
  • Be the focal point contact for European 3PL's to help resolve shipping issues, questions, and concerns. 

CUSTOMS & COMPLIANCE

  • Manage relationships with our customs compliance partners to ensure quality and accuracy of service and resolve import/export challenges in a timely manner.
  • Ensure we are following all international trade regulations.
  • Ensure transportation operations comply with policies, laws, and regulations, including but not limited to DOT, EPA, FCC, and OSHA.
  • Manage HTS compliance codes for accuracy.
  • Manage the Heat-Treated Wood pallet program to ensure compliance with international shipment regulations. 

COST SAVINGS & QUOTING

  • Establish, maintain, and monitor transportation KPI's. Develop and execute action plans for metrics not meeting expectations.
  • Continually drive cost savings and other improvements throughout the transportation network through RFQ's, service improvements, and process improvements.
  • Manage and execute any government sponsored tariff refund programs to ensure Dristeem is properly compensated   
  • Manage the freight claims process to ensure Dristeem is properly compensated for damaged goods during shipments.   Lead internal teams to review damaged goods from shipments, both inbound and outbound, determine course of action to repair or replace items, determine root cause and corrective actions where possible.
  • Support quoting activity for air, ocean, road freight, and small parcel RFQ's.
  • Provide support for determining fully landed costs for imported items.

INTERNAL PROCESSES

  • Provide shipment tracking information as needed to support good customer service.
  • Manage the freight bill audit processes to verify the accuracy of freight invoices and develop exception-based processes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment and integration of logistics objectives and initiatives.
  • Partner with Inside Sales to track and manage demo unit movement to tradeshows and reps.
  • Create and maintain transportation related SOPs and work instructions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
  • Comply with all company safety, health rules and policies and promote safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to a supervisor/manager.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and management.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • Perform related work as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or other related degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and monitoring compliance as it relates to international trade regulations.
  • Intermediate level of experience with Syteline or a similar ERP system.
  • Advanced level of experience with Sureship or similar shipping software systems.
  • Knowledge and experience working in an ISO 9001-2015 environment.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Webex, and/or Microsoft Teams.
