POSITION SUMMARY:
The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for a Sports Program Director to lead sports programming at our Heinrich and Durango Hills locations. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily oversight and operations of gymnasium rentals, youth and adult sports programs, facility rentals, and birthday party coordination. You will also be responsible for the strategic growth and development of sports programming for the Heinrich and Durango Hills YMCAs. This is a full-time in-person position. Evening and weekend work may be required.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
At the YMCA of Southern Nevada, we're proud to offer a wide variety of sports opportunities for both youth and adults. Our youth skill-development programs provide a safe, supportive environment for budding athletes to learn and grow in basketball, baseball, soccer, cheer, tumbling, gymnastics, volleyball, and flag football. Those interested in martial arts can train under experienced, top-notch instructors in Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan Karate, and Jiu Jitsu. Adult participants can stay active through pickleball, Shotokan Karate, and flag football, while our Silver and Black NFL Flag Football program delivers exciting leagues and competitive opportunities for athletes looking to take their game to the next level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of gym rentals, sports programs, personal training/sports conditioning, and facility use.
  • Drive the strategic growth and development of sports programming, including but not limited to launching and expanding competitive leagues for both youth and adults.
  • Process all program and rental payments according to YMCA procedures.
  • Draft and manage contracts for facility rentals and sports programs. Ensure all agreements comply with YMCA standards and policies, including the Youth Protection Policy.
  • Monitor and meet financial goals by managing budgets, collecting rental payments, and analyzing revenue/expense reports.
  • Directly supervise up to 10 part-time staff. Manage staff schedules, payroll accuracy, and departmental reporting.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and address concerns in a timely, professional manner.

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS:
  • Follow employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk.
  • Provide employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk.
  • Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth.
  • Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization's progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated reporting requirements.
  • Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization's commitment to protect their consumers from abuse.
  • Report essential abuse risk management information to their supervisor, executive director, or human resources.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience coordinating sports programs, leagues, facility rentals, or recreational services.
  • Strong administrative skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Mature, dependable, and genial person with the ability to communicate with people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
  • American Red Cross CPR/ First Aid for Professional Rescuers Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum age of 21.
