American Traveler is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Columbus, Ohio.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift assignment at a teaching hospital, requiring an active Ohio license and 2+ years of experience.

Details
  • Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department in a hospital setting
  • Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
  • Uses GE ventilators and related respiratory equipment
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend work required
  • Floating between campuses may be required
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
  • Active Ohio state license required in hand prior to consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • High school diploma and college diploma/transcripts required from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and CRT preferred
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning, and troubleshooting alarms
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Proficiency in medication administration and delivery systems including MDI, nebulizer, and aerosol setups
  • Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Additional Information
  • Provide respiratory care services including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration
  • Perform pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this facility
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Requested time off must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
  • Prior travel experience preferred but not required
