Job Description:

The Regional Manager drives growth and customer success across a multi-state territory, expanding Rock Rental’s presence with utility and infrastructure contractors, environmental and industrial service providers, pipeline and energy companies, and sewer cleaning and pipe inspection contractors. The role manages both direct and dealer-based rental relationships for Rock’s industry-leading specialty fleet of hydro-excavators, combination sewer cleaners, jetter trucks, liquid vac trucks, and industrial air movers.

The Regional Manager builds trusted partnerships with customers and partners (dealers, company branch locations, etc.), ensuring the highest levels of uptime, service support, and value creation, while aligning closely with internal operations and service teams to meet utilization, revenue, and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a territory sales strategy focused on driving rental utilization, fleet equipment sales and revenue growth.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts across key markets including hydro-excavation, industrial cleaning, sewer cleaning, and utility construction.
  • Manage the full sales process — lead generation, quoting, negotiation, contract execution, and handoff to operations.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast using CRM tools.
  • Populate the HubSpot CRM tool with ongoing customer data and contact information.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned direct accounts and dealer partners fostering long-term relationships built on trust and responsiveness.
  • Partner with Fleet Service Manager and Fleet Manager to ensure timely deliveries, maintenance scheduling, and rapid turnaround on down units.
  • Conduct on-site equipment demonstrations and operator walk-throughs highlighting performance, ease of operation, and maintenance advantages to build customer confidence and drive rental opportunities.
  • Provide market feedback on fleet demand, customer preferences to influence fleet planning and product mix.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity, equipment utilization data to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Support the launch of new products, partner relationships, and service initiatives within the territory.
  • Represent Rock Rental at industry trade shows, association meetings, and partner events.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, deliver updates on sales pipeline, evolving market trends within the territory, and partner engagements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 5+ years of proven sales success is preferred in equipment rental, industrial sales, or heavy equipment (vacuum trucks, hydro-excavators, or similar).
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of equipment operation, jobsite applications, and maintenance fundamentals.
  • Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and results-driven with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory with weekly overnight hotel stays commonplace.
