Duration: 12-18+ Months (W2 Contract)

Job Description :

As the Scrum Master for a high‑performance software engineering team, you will drive agile delivery across complex modernization initiatives, including the consolidation of legacy platforms, distributed system development, and integration with mainframe and batch systems. You will champion agile practices, remove delivery blockers, and enable the team to achieve predictable, iterative delivery with strong collaboration and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead all Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand‑ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retros) and ensure they run efficiently and with purpose.
- Partner closely with the Product Owner to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog aligned with business value.
- Remove impediments, manage cross‑team dependencies, and ensure the team can operate at high velocity.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Coach the team on agile best practices, metrics, estimation, flow management, and delivery predictability.
- Facilitate alignment between engineering, architecture, business stakeholders, and support teams.
- Protect the team from scope creep and external distractions while enabling high‑quality delivery.
- Analyze team performance metrics (velocity, cycle time, throughput) and drive measurable improvements.
- Support team planning, release coordination, risk management, and communication across workstreams.
- Promote engineering best practices such as definition of done, technical debt visibility, and quality‑first delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Delivery Lead supporting software engineering teams.
- Proven track record of enabling successful delivery in complex, technical environments (distributed systems, modernization, or enterprise integration preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Experience facilitating cross‑team dependencies and coordinating with architecture, DevOps, and QA.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to coach engineers and stakeholders at multiple levels of agile maturity.
- Experience using agile tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, etc.).
