Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office at the Webb Municipal Building (201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202): in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; remote Mondays and Fridays.

Who We Are & What You'll Do

The Administration Division, part of the Department of General Services, manages citywide service contracts, facility security, utility payments, mailroom operations, and abandoned RV disposal. It is part of a three-division department that provides integral support for 40-plus City and County of Denver agencies, departments, and offices. Specifically, as the Contract Administrator, you will:

  • Prepare requests for information and proposals, intergovernmental agreements, and revenue agreements.

  • Market contracting opportunities to provide services and related goods to the City, facilitate preproposal conferences, review proposals and financial information, and develop and oversee evaluation criteria.

  • Negotiate final contract terms.

  • Serve as a liaison to the City Attorney's Office, monitor contracts through the review and approval process, and coordinate actions related to contract breaches.

  • Make presentations to , executive leaders, city staff, contractors, and others as required.

  • Manage contracts for assigned vendors and services, and provide procurement and contract guidance to staff and contractors.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational efficiencies and prepare reports and recommendations for management.

  • recommends and coordinates the implementation of policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and contributes to the revision of existing and development of new policies and SOPs

  • Conduct onsite investigations to verify contractual compliance, inquiries, audits, and followup inspections as needed.

  • Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for contract files throughout their lifecycle, archive supporting documents, and prepare performance reports for management.

  • Coordinate internal review committees and provide recommendations regarding contract renewals, extensions, amendments, and modifications.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Management, or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation, contract administration, or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget, compliance issues, or accounting.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
