Position Responsibilities:
  • Administers & Coordinates medical prescribed therapy as assigned.
  • Prioritizes Patient therapy according to patient acuity on a daily basis.
  • Accountable for administration observation charting and reporting effects of drugs oxygen respiratory treatments and other the raputic and diagnostic measures.
  • Completes assignments on a timely basis while adapting to changing workloads when required.
  • Maintains standard shift productivity.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of indications contraindications hazards and troubleshooting of all treatments as assigned.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient care through clinical competencies at least annually.
  • Demonstrates competency in drawing and/or running arterial blood gases at least annually.
  • completes all forms in medical record and departmental records accurately and legibly according to hospital/departmental policy and procedure.
  • Communicates pertinent information at shift report.
  • Fulfills on call responsibilities according to departmental policy.
  • Participates in critical care program as an educator.
  • Monitors ventilation patients according to departmental standards.
  • Demonstrates ability to teach and educate patient and family according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Uses supplies equipment and resources in a cost effective manner
Qualifications:
  • Florida license for Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Graduate of a two-year accredited program for Respiratory Care
  • 1-2 years intensive care/ABG drawing/analysis
