This role's mission & overview

We are looking for an engineering manager for our ExperiencePlatform team, which is a newly formed, growing team that will be building platform features used across multiple different products at CampCo. This manager will be leading a team of engineers who are rapidly reimagining a core monolithic product, redesigning core customer features while modernizing the underlying architecture. This team has both external and internal customers, as they will build and own functionality used by external customers, but across multiple different products within the CampCo umbrella.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who thrives on leading teams that are solving hard architectural problems while designing features for a platform system that will be used both internally and externally.

As an Engineering Manager for our ExperiencePlatform team, you will:

  • Build and lead 1-2 engineering teams through a complex architectural shift, transitioning core features from a monolithic codebase to a modern, scalable platform
  • Lead engineering best practices on rapid, iterative feedback cycles with customers while balancing plans for long-term scalability and reliability
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders across CampCo to ensure the platform effectively supports diverse product requirements and seamless integrations
  • Build an AI-first engineering team, that uses the best AI tools throughout their development process, and includes AI in the product where appropriate
  • Cultivate an engineering culture of autonomy, technical excellence, and rapid iteration, empowering your team to solve difficult distributed systems problems
  • Mentor and grow engineers at all levels, providing technical guidance and career coaching to foster a world-class development environment

We think a successful candidate will bring:

  • Experience leading high-performing, highly engaged engineering teams in growth environments, while maintaining strong engineering best practices and high quality
  • A strong track record of architectural modernization, such as migrating monolithic applications to service-oriented architectures
  • Expertise in building and maintaining platform features (including embedded frontend features) that serve both internal developers and external customers
  • Experience with agentic coding and harness engineering
  • Strong Agile and project management skills, with a proven track record of continuously improving systems and processes on your teams in order to make them more efficient
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into clear business impact for stakeholders across the organization
  • Excellent coaching and mentorship skills, and ability to grow engineers with a wide range of skillsets
  • Growth-oriented mindset, with a desire to constantly learn and improve, and constantly improve their team

Our Interview Process:

  1. 45 min - interview with People & Culture
  2. 60 min - interview with Hiring Manager
  3. Phase 3
    1. 60 min - architecture interview with Engineering team member
    2. 60 min - peer interview with Engineering manager
    3. 60 min - peer interview with product manager

A few of the benefits we are proud to offer:

  • Robust medical, dental, and vision coverage options with generous employer contributions, plus a $500 employer HSA contribution for HSA-compatible plans
  • Ability to choose where you work - remotely, in the office, or a mix!
  • A variety of resources to support mental health and emotional well-being
  • 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for all new parents, including via adoption, surrogacy, and foster care
  • 401(k) with 4% company matching
  • Trust-Based (flexible) PTO (and yes, we use it!)
  • $900/year wellness allowance
  • Company-paid subscriptions, training, and support for using AI professionally and personally. We have a team dedicated to enabling our AI capabilities for our team members and our customers!

We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply:

We're actively taking steps to make sure our culture is inclusive and that our processes and practices promote equity for all, including people of color, people from working-class backgrounds, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. We welcome and encourage applications from people with these identities or members of other historically marginalized groups.

Research shows that women and people of color tend not to apply to jobs unless they believe they are 100% qualified and apply to fewer senior-level positions. With that in mind, we encourage you to apply if you're not sure whether you meet our qualifications. We'd love to have the opportunity to consider you!

We encourage applications from parents, parents-to-be, and those responsible for the caretaking of others. We offer paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents (including for adoption, surrogacy, and foster care placement) and paid loss leave to recover from miscarriage or stillbirth.
