Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)

Position Summary

Chenega Corporation is seeking a qualified and experienced Radiologic Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a clinical healthcare setting. The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and compliance with established medical and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians and authorized healthcare providers.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently according to established protocols.
  • Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before submission for interpretation.
  • Maintain radiation safety standards and adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation within electronic health record systems.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, and functionality of imaging equipment.
  • Follow infection control, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care.
Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Active state Radiologic Technologist license (if required by the state of practice).
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospital, outpatient, clinic, or diagnostic imaging environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with digital radiography and PACS systems.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Understanding of radiation protection and safety standards.
  • Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift patients or equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to move and position patients safely.
  • Capability to work extended periods while operating imaging equipment.
Work Environment
  • Hospital, clinic, outpatient imaging center, or government healthcare facility.
  • May require weekends, holidays, on-call, or rotating shifts based on facility needs.
  • Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate protective measures are required.
