Job description

Engagement snapshot
Heads up on schedule: this is a focused part-time engagement, roughly 2 days/week across about six months, well suited to an independent architect running it alongside other work. It starts the week of June 29, so timing is tight.  TypeContract / freelance (fixed-term)Duration~June 29 to December 18, 2026 (about 6 months)Hours~15 hrs/week on average across the engagement (~376 hours total) LocationRemote (U.S.). Candidates in TX, CA, IL, MN, and OH preferred.Rate$125 to $140/hour, based on experienceEngagementSupporting GTX Solutions (a CourtAvenue Company) on an enterprise B2B marketing transformation: a migration to Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
Is this you?

You are a hands-on data or MarTech architect who works on a contract basis and has built on a modern CDP. You can define schemas, design ingestion and identity strategy, and govern the integrations between enterprise data sources and marketing activation, and you document as you go. You are comfortable being the technical lead in a multi-vendor program, speaking fluently to both data engineers and senior marketing stakeholders.

What you'll do
- Lead the technical architecture for the client's B2B marketing stack in AEP: XDM schema design, dataset configuration, ingestion pipelines, and identity graph strategy.
- Define and govern the data integration architecture between upstream enterprise sources (CRM, order management, customer service, product usage) and AEP.
- Architect and oversee RTCDP configuration: profile merge rules, identity namespaces, consent management, and destination activation.
- Partner with the technical build team on AJO configuration (channel surfaces, data source connections, event schema).
- Provide technical oversight for the legacy-platform migration to AJO/AEP: data mapping, suppression logic translation, and historical migration planning.
- Define MarTech integration standards and data contracts between AEP and downstream channels (email, SMS, paid media, sales enablement).
- Collaborate with the client's data engineering and architecture teams on governance, security, and compliance alignment.
- Document architecture decisions, data flows, integration specs, and platform configurations.
- Identify and resolve data quality, latency, and completeness issues affecting activation and personalization.
- Support the Analytics & Measurement Lead with AEP Query Service, data lake access, and reporting datasets.
What you need

Required:

- 8+ years in data architecture, MarTech architecture, systems integration, or enterprise data engineering.
- Hands-on AEP experience: XDM schema design, batch and streaming ingestion, Profile Service configuration. **Adobe is preferred, but we are open to strong CDP architects from comparable platforms (Segment, Tealium, Salesforce Data Cloud, Treasure Data) who can ramp on AEP; this skill set is scarce and we would rather find the right architect than the perfect résumé.**
- Strong CDP architecture concepts: identity resolution and real-time profile activation.
- SQL proficiency; familiarity with Python, pipeline tools (Kafka, Azure Data Factory), or a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience designing and governing integrations across enterprise CRM, data warehouse, and marketing activation platforms.
- Strong data governance, data quality management, consent frameworks, and enterprise security.
- Excellent documentation: technical design specs, data dictionaries, and integration diagrams.
- Strong communication across technical engineering teams and senior marketing stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Adobe RTCDP configuration (merge rules, identity namespaces, audience activation).
- Experience supporting a legacy marketing automation migration.
- AJO technical configuration (API-triggered journeys, event schema).
- Complex, multi-vendor program environments with shared data responsibilities.
- MarTech consulting, systems integration, or digital transformation advisory background.
- AEP certifications (AEP Architect, AEP Business Practitioner, or equivalent).
- Enterprise data experience in telco, technology, or financial services.
