Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Data Analytics & GIS Intern to join our team. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting environmental consulting projects through the use of geospatial technologies, data analytics, environmental research, and emerging digital tools. The selected candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary professionals and contribute to projects that support environmental investigations, remediation efforts, natural resource assessments, site selection studies, and regulatory decision-making.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with organizing, reviewing, and managing environmental and geospatial datasets
  • Support Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, spatial analysis, and visualization efforts
  • Georeference and digitize historical maps, aerial imagery, and other environmental record
  • Prepare maps, figures, dashboards, and technical graphics for reports and client deliverables
  • Assist with environmental research, data collection, and interpretation of environmental information
  • Support web mapping applications, field data collection systems, and spatial databases
  • Analyze environmental and spatial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, data analysts, and other technical professionals on project tasks
  • Assist with technical reporting, data management, and project documentation
  • Explore innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics tools to enhance workflows and environmental decision-making
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of project and business objectives
What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS)or related field
  • Coursework or experience related to GIS, geospatial technologies, environmental data analysis, or spatial statistics
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Interest in environmental consulting, sustainability, and applying technology to environmental challenges
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
