Job Description

Position: DevOps Engineer

Location: Tampa FL (LOCAL ONLY)

Duration: 3-6Month Contract with extension

Top Skillsets:

  • Puppet Management
  • DevOps Knowledge

Skillset in Puppet/Configuration Management/Automation - PRIORITY

Responsibilities:

Proactive monitoring of the infrastructure to keep the services running seamlessly.

Monitoring the Infrastructure and services related to the application such as:

Disk space

Monitoring the jobs

Memory and CPU utilization

Web services such as http and https etc.

Server performance monitoring

Overall server/infrastructure health check

User and Access Management.

Monitoring the instances running on AWS.

Monitor and share the server performance reports.

Performance tuning of the servers.

Automation of the tasks by editing the existing Bash scripts.

Automation of deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring through DevOps tools meant for Cloud management

Systems Administration (Red Hat/CentOS)

Perform the scheduled maintenance of the servers as and when required.

Perform the upgrades and apply the necessary updates and Patches to the UNIX environment.

Monitoring the production environment with the use of monitoring tool (provided by AWS) and address any alerts triggered.

Open the bridge call for any major incident and keep the stake holders informed.

Escalating the issues to the appropriate teams if need be.

Maintaining service levels based on the priority of issues reported.

Take the complete ownership of the tickets and drive it to closure

Document the Procedures and Process and publish it over the SharePoint or Knowledge Base.

Following documented processes for troubleshooting, resolving, or escalating issues.
