Job Requirements
  • Active RN license required
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred, with behavioral health or psych RN experience strongly preferred
  • Strong de-escalation, crisis intervention, and mental health nursing skills
  • Experience with medical, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric stabilization populations preferred
  • Ability to support CIWA and COWS protocols preferred
  • Comfort working with adolescents ages 13-17 and adults 18+
  • Willingness to float to all units as needed
  • Team-oriented, calm, and patient-centered approach
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to behavioral health patients in an acute psychiatric setting
  • Support patients experiencing psychiatric crises and stabilization needs
  • Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a therapeutic and secure environment
  • Administer nursing interventions for adolescent and adult populations across assigned units
  • Monitor patients closely and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team on treatment plans
  • Assist with CIWA and COWS monitoring when indicated
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record
  • Float between units based on patient needs and staffing demands
