Job description

Summary
The Project Controls Specialist is a key member of the AMS Retrofit team. Under the direction of the Project Controls Manager, this position will focus on cost management support for all Retrofit team projects, which can vary in size, value and complexity. All duties will be performed with industry-leading ethical, safety and quality standards through awareness and proactive involvement.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Cost & Risk Control
  • Assist Director Business Development, Project Controls Manager and Retrofit Project Managers with completion of weekly and monthly reports for presentation to the client and internal departments.
  • Work with the Director Business Development, Project Controls Manager and Retrofit Project Managers with completion of reporting related to SOX Controls.
  • Work with the Project Managers to implement, monitor and analyze Project Budgets in SAP/iMACS (EDM - potentially in the future).
  • Assist with proposal estimating and analysis, and cashflow projections.
  • Assist with change order estimating and analysis.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budget, from as-sold contract, including scope changes and budget adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and analysis of project costs and budgets
  • Perform continual cost management, including weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting requirements and analysis of trends, actual vs budget, variance analysis and cost mitigation opportunities to maintain the Forecast at Completion.
  • Assist Project Managers with tracking Prime Contract payment milestones, invoicing, and change orders.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain vendor representative and back charge logs, including forecasts and close-out assistance
  • Assist Procurement team with subcontract management, including milestone development, contract documentation requirements, pricing analysis, invoice approvals and claims mitigation
  • Assist with expediting project-critical equipment, components and materials.
  • Facilitate project report development and reviews, including action items and status, of all project risks
  • Assist with claims analysis and mitigation efforts, both to client and to vendors/subcontractors
  • Follow established procedures. Assist in development/improvement of additional processes/procedures.
  • Perform duties related to BOM (Bill of Material) coordinator duties, including:
    • Entry and classification of new parts using the established process and nomenclature
    • Maintain and manage the integrity of the SAP Parts Database
    • Assist Project Managers with OEM parts uploads
    • Represent the Retrofit group in the BOM Coordinators workgroup

Training
Enerflex will provide sufficient training for all newly hired employees to help them understand the processes, systems and business models we operate under at Enerflex, so that they have ample technical aptitude to execute their work efficiently. The amount of time devoted to training will depend on a person's background, but it is expected that any new employee will require additional training. Enerflex is committed to providing such training.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years' related Project Controls experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or Business. Degree requirement may be substituted by relevant experience on a year-for-year basis above minimum experience requirement.
  • 3+ years' experience working with SAP or other industry-standard enterprise financial system
  • Experience with part numbering and Master Data requirements, including setting up Classifications and Characteristics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products - Advanced in Excel; Intermediate in Word, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Strong and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when dealing with large spreadsheets and reports

Preferred Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Project
  • 3+ years' experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • SAP/iMacs experience
  • Project based work experience

Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Occasional travel to sites, Subcontractor offices, and/or client offices may be required. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
