NES Fircroft is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse worldwide client base within the oil & gas industry.


Job Title: Contract Conformance Specialist

Location: Calgary or Edmonton

Length: 1 Year (with potential extension)

Rotation: 3 days in office (Mon/Tues/Thurs) and 2 days remote (Wed/Friday)


Position Overview

The Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day sourcing and conformance activities for all contractual arrangements associated with assigned capital projects. The CCS manages all phases of contract administration, documentation, and communications, ensuring that contractual obligations are met and issues are resolved proactively.


Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate thorough understanding and adherence to the Project Execution contract strategy
  • Prepare RFX documents in collaboration with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and technical requirements
  • Draft clear and comprehensive RFP language outlining evaluation criteria and contractual obligations
  • Manage the full RFP process including issuance, vendor communications, and pre-bid meetings
  • Lead RFP evaluations, including scoring, consensus reviews, and award recommendations in compliance with governance requirements
  • Draft contract exhibits and technical contract documentation
  • Lead contract negotiations during bidding and contract formation stages
  • Collaborate with project teams, SCM, and legal to resolve contractual issues
  • Evaluate contractor deliverables for compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company requirements
  • Develop communication plans and provide contract conformance training where required
  • Review contractor invoices, address non-compliance, and manage approvals and payments
  • Maintain contract documentation, logs, and records; manage document control systems
  • Oversee change order processes including logs, directives, and approvals
  • Coordinate contract close-out and ensure compliance with retention policies and audit requirements
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to management on contract status and issues


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction, or law, or an associate degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in major Engineering & Construction contract management
  • Strong expertise in interpreting and administering contractual terms and conditions
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Oracle, and SharePoint


Role Scope / Dimensions

  • Assigned to a major capital project within the Sunrise Expansion Program
  • Responsible for full lifecycle contract administration and conformance oversight


Working Conditions

  • Primary work location: Company office and project field offices
  • Travel requirement: Approximately 10–25% within the assigned project
