Job description

Assistant Professor - Global Health and the Environment

The Department of Geography and Sustainable Development in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami seeks applicants for one tenureโ€‘track faculty appointment in the field of Health and Environment. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on August 15, 2026.

The ideal candidate will be able to develop a vibrant research and teaching agenda that addresses the spatial dimensions of health, with an emphasis on communicable and nonโ€‘communicable diseases in relation to urban built environments. We welcome applicants from diverse disciplinary backgrounds who employ innovative quantitative or mixed methods approaches and are committed to interdisciplinary collaboration.
