What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Contract Production Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Production Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of branding and layout principles, typically supported by a degree in graphic design or a related field. Proficiency with design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with project management tools are essential. Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability help professionals collaborate effectively and meet tight deadlines. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality visual assets that align with client expectations and project requirements.

How does a Contract Production Designer typically collaborate with other team members during a project?

As a Contract Production Designer, you will frequently work alongside art directors, copywriters, account managers, and other designers to ensure that visual assets meet brand standards and project specifications. Collaborative tools and regular check-ins are common, helping to keep everyone aligned on deadlines and quality expectations. You'll also often be responsible for managing your own workload and adjusting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What is a Contract Production Designer?

This role offers the chance to shape the user experience of a cutting-edge platform focused on redefining how enterprises integrate AI into workforce planning and operations.
Position Overview
This is a highly impactful, hands-on design role where you will directly influence how enterprise leaders interact with and understand AI-driven insights. The ideal candidate brings strong product design fundamentals, experience with data-rich interfaces, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

This role also includes the opportunity to implement smaller UI updates directly within the frontend using modern tools and AI-assisted workflows.
Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design for complex enterprise workflows, including dashboards, pipelines, navigation structures, and data-driven interfaces
  • Develop and maintain information architecture , design systems , and UI patterns that support scalability and usability
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering and leadership to define user experiences and product direction
  • Contribute to and refine brand voice and visual identity , ensuring a high level of polish and consistency
  • Utilize AI coding tools to directly implement smaller UI updates and enhancements in the frontend when appropriate
  • Iterate continuously on live product experiences, balancing speed with quality and usability
Qualifications
  • Approximately 2+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped product work (not concept-only)
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex, data-heavy UIs such as dashboards, admin tools, or multi-step workflows
  • Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS , or experience as a primary designer in an early-stage environment
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) and comfort working across design and implementation
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to support design execution
  • Strong visual design skills, particularly in typography, layout density, and systems thinking
  • Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale
  • Comfort working in iterative environments with evolving requirements
  • Must be located within commuting distance of the SF Bay Area and available onsite 3 days per week
Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks and design systems such as shadcn, Radix UI, and Tailwind CSS
  • Experience contributing to or owning design systems (tokens, components, patterns)
  • Exposure to brand, marketing, or landing page design
  • Public-facing design work (e.g., portfolio site, writing, talks, or open-source contributions)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Target base salary range: $130,000 - $205,000 , depending on experience
  • Opportunity for conversion to full-time employment and long-term career growth
Why Apply
This is a unique opportunity for a designer to shape highly visible, enterprise-grade AI products at an early stage. You will have direct ownership over meaningful user experiences, work closely with leadership, and contribute to defining the future of AI-driven design systems and workflows.
