Scope:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Process Engineering Manager to lead process engineering activities within a fast-paced printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing environment supporting aerospace and defense customers. This role is responsible for developing engineering talent, driving process stability and yield improvement, and establishing scalable engineering systems that support operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes with strong leadership capability, particularly in mentoring early-career engineers and building structured engineering programs. Success in this role requires cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Customer teams to improve manufacturing performance and execution discipline across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of process engineers, including recent graduates and early-career professionals.
  • Establish structured technical training, onboarding, and mentorship programs to accelerate engineering competency development.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, statistical analysis, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Conduct regular technical reviews, development discussions, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, ownership, and engineering rigor.
  • Drive process capability improvements across PCB manufacturing operations including imaging, plating, etching, lamination, drilling, soldermask, surface finish, AOI, and final inspection.
  • Sponsor initiatives focused on yield improvement, scrap reduction, throughput optimization, and cost reduction.
  • Support qualification and validation activities for new equipment, materials, chemistries, and process changes.
  • Ensure processes meet aerospace and defense quality and reliability expectations.
  • Build and standardize engineering management systems, workflows, and escalation processes to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop sustainable cross-functional processes that strengthen communication and execution between Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams.
  • Implement structured problem-solving methodologies and accountability mechanisms for manufacturing issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs aligned with operational and strategic business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Quality teams on corrective actions, audits, customer complaints, and nonconformance reduction.
  • Support customer technical discussions, audits, and qualification activities as needed.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex manufacturing and reliability issues.
  • Ensure engineering documentation, process changes, and validation activities are properly controlled and documented.
  • Promote disciplined engineering change management and risk mitigation practices.

Education & Experience:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in PCB, electronics, or high-reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and technical personnel.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience directly managing a multitude of process improvement changes, preferably focused heavily on engineering programs within the aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, AS9100, MIL-spec requirements, and regulated manufacturing environments.

Compensation and Benefits:
TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accident benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid vacation & holidays. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.
Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$106,187 - $186,743
Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
