Platform Engineer
The Opportunity:
Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud", but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you're eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client's needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients' toughest challenges.
As a Platform Engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you'll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.
You'll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you'll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with software development or programming in a DevOps environment
  • 1+ years of experience with automation tools, including Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Puppet
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of architecting and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Security+ or CISSP Certification within 30 days of start date

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience managing Git-based version control systems and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including GitLab and GitHub
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing such as CI/CD
  • Experience provisioning and managing infrastructure and applications in cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
  • Experience with scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
  • Experience leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • Agile, DevOps, or Cloud Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
