Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Maintain the painting, wall repair and appearance of all facilities. Participate in any other department related work to support the team, installing and removing awnings, snow removal and cross-training with the Engineering Crew. Support the Emergency Response Team to handle emergencies around the property.  


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Work with computers for maintenance requests and building automation.
  2. Glaze windows.
  3. Scrape and sand-out roughness to prepare surfaces for priming/painting.  
  4. Clean surface of mildew prior to priming/painting.
  5. Remove fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting.
  6. Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fill prior to priming.
  7. Spread drop cloth over floors and room furnishings and cover surfaces such as baseboards, door frames and windows to protect surfaces during painting.
  8. Paint surfaces with brushes, spray gun and/or paint rollers.
  9. Complete basic carpentry tasks (i.e. measuring, cutting, nailing, etc.)
  10. Repair bed posts.
  11. Complete drywall installation including taping and finishing joints and patches.
  12. Assist Engineers/Carpenter when necessary. 
  13. Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Guest rooms, (occupied and unoccupied) meeting rooms, The Sports Club, Birdwood Golf Course, dining rooms, kitchens, meeting space, Spa and all back-of house areas. Engineers should not enter dining rooms or meeting rooms during times of occupancy unless unavoidable. Work in occupied guest rooms will be at the guest request, only.

Requirements

Essential:

  1. At least 6 months previous painting experience.
  2. Knowledge of preparation and painting of drywall, plaster, cinder block and stucco.
  3. Ability to cut in straight lines between colors.
  4. Ability to use nine-inch and sixteen-inch rollers.
  5. Ability to be productive while working independently.
  6. Responsible for arriving to work on-time or early for scheduled shift, in all weather conditions, and as called upon.
  7. Ability to communicate and work well with other team members.
  8. Ability to change tasks quickly as priorities change.


Desirable:

  1. Skilled in plaster repairs.


SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
